What we are trying to achieve for Orbital.

What's the point of Freshie?

To help clients achieve their fitness goals, personal trainers design workout and nutrition program for their clients.

To our knowledge, it is common to use Google Sheets to design such programs, as it allows clients to input information on their end (e.g what they have eaten and how many reps they've completed) that personal trainers can then keep tabs on.

However, Google Sheets may not be optimal for clients, as it may be:

  • slow on mobile devices

  • user interface may not be user-friendly

As such, clients can alternatively download more user-friendly applications from the app store to track their calories or their workouts.

However, when they do so, a personal trainer would then need to manually ask clients for such information to make sure they stay on track.

The client may also not know what items to buy for meal-preps, and may also be unsure of where to eat out so that they can stick to the nutrition plan made for them.

User Stories

  1. As a personal trainer, I want a platform where I can provide my clients with recipes to meal preps, home workout routines, and also other fitness tips.

  2. As a client of a personal trainer, I want to be able to see what my fitness trainer has planned for me and also track my diet and workouts for my personal trainer to see.

  3. As someone who is getting into fitness and dieting, I would like to be able to have a list of recipes and workout routines that I can refer to and keep track of, all on one platform.

How are we different from existing platforms?

Strong

  • Strong is a great solution which provides workout tracking but unlike Freshie, does not have a function where your personal trainer can watch your progress and provide you with workout tailored to your needs.

MyPlate Calorie Counter

  • Provides a platform which only allows calorie tracking and diet planning. Freshie not only also provides restaurant recommendations which fits the user's diet plans, users can also track their workouts.
